Milito: "Zanetti, what a player"

VERONA – "Zanetti provided me with a fantastic cross, he’s such an amazing player. My saved penalty? When that happens it means you didn’t take it well: I struck it hard but it was too central." Diego Milito beamed as he spoke to Inter Channel: his late header doubled Inter’s lead against Chievo and was almost enough to erase the memory of Stefano Sorrentino’s save that denied the Prince the chance to make it 0-1 in the first half.

Wesley Sneijder had a great game, as Milito was keen to emphasise: "He’s a massive player, I’ve always said that. He plays such a key role, especially for us forwards, because he serves us the ball and keeps the team ticking over. He was magnificent tonight."

The Argentine striker smiled again at the end as he joked with Edoardo Caldara and Nagaja Beccalossi about a coincidence: Esteban Cambiasso came off the bench and the goals started to flow. "It’s true, when he came on the game changed," confirmed Milito, "but it was important to win for this group that has always stuck together through thick and thin."
