Javier Zanetti suggests Antonio Conte is the principal architect of Inter’s title and praises players who ‘had to overcome many difficulties.’
Zanetti was still a footballer when Inter had won their last Scudetto 11 years ago.
This time, he celebrates his first Serie A title as the club’s vice president.
“This victory was born two years ago, when Antonio Conte and his staff crossed the gates of our home Appiano Gentile,” he wrote on Instagram.
“They brought a top-level work culture. They began to convey a great winning mentality. All they do all day is to think about how they can improve the team.
“The group has followed this incredible path, with great professionality and overcoming some difficulties. They’ve always believed in the work we’ve carried out together.
“This Scudetto is their merit.
“You wrote a new, marvellous and important page in the history of this club, making millions of fans happy.
“Them, the fans, our beating heart since always: they’ve never abandoned us.
“Coach, staff, players: as the vice president I know how hard it was to get to the finish line.
“For this, I want to thank you from my heart for allowing me to accompany you on this glorious journey.
“Yesterday, today, tomorrow, always and only FORZA INTER.”
