Fiorentina defender Lucas Martinez Quarta explains why he initially struggled, is relishing a battle with Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku literally left his mark.

“This may be a vital match for us and it’s even more exciting to play against an excellent side like Milan and a champion like Ibrahimovic,” the Argentina international told Tuttosport.
“I am sure the Rossoneri will come here planning to take the three points, as they have to get closer to Inter, but we’d like points too.”
Ibrahimovic is merely the newest Serie A hitman to check Martinez Quarta.
“Lukaku left a mark on my neck… Then there’s Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez and lots of more great strikers. I’m very happy to have come to Italy, as this experience allows me to check myself against the best.”
He took a short time to get into the Fiorentina first team, but has now become a reliable figure within the back three.
“It wasn’t easy on behalf of me at the beginning , but things improved with diligence , my teammates and therefore the confidence I had in myself. I knew that I could had best here and wanted to prove it.
“I was on the bench for nine games during a row, but fortunately once it had been my chance, there have been some good performances. We are convinced that we are an honest team and need to secure safety without pressure.”
