Serie A Team of the Week: Tevez, Mexes & Scuffet all shine

The Argentine netted both goals as Juventus beat Parma, while the Milan defender opened the scoring at Fiorentina and the 17-year-old goalkeeper was the hero for Udinese at Inter

Juventus brushed off the resistance of in-form Parma with a 2-1 win in midweek to maintain their commanding lead in the 30th round of Serie A.

Roma, Napoli, Milan, Chievo, Cagliari, Genoa, Sampdoria and Atalanta also scored wins, while Inter were held at home by Udinese in a goalless game which was the only draw of the round.

Here, Goal takes a look at the pick of the players from the latest action in Italy’s top flight.

In goal, 17-year-old Simone Scuffet was the hero for Udinese as he kept Inter at bay with a number of fine saves at San Siro, including two miraculous interventions to deny the home side.

At the back, Scuffet’s Udinese team-mate Maurizio Domizzi is also included after clearing off the line against Inter, while Leandro Castan impressed for Roma in the their 2-1 win over Torino and Philippe Mexes shone for Milan, helping Clarence Seedorf’s side to a clean sheet and netting the opening goal in the 2-0 success at Fiorentina.

In midfield, Allan also put in an impressive shift for Udinese, while Giuseppe Sculli stood out for Genoa in their 2-0 win over Lazio, Albin Ekdal shone as Cagliari edged out Hellas Verona by a single strike and Alessandro Florenzi netted a dramatic late winner for Roma as the Giallorossi beat Torino 2-1 at Stadio Oimpico.

In attack, Carlos Tevez tucked away both goals for Juventus in their 2-1 victory over Parma and the Argentine is joined by Atalanta’s Giuseppe De Luca, who scored the opener in his side’s 2-0 success versus Livorno, and Catania’s Duvan Zapata, on target twice for Napoli in the 4-2 win at Catania.
