PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa Offered to Inter With Newcastle Also Interested

Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa has been offered to Inter on a free transfer at the end of the season, with Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United also given the chance to sign the Frenchman according to a report.

With the coronavirus pandemic severely damaging the spending power of Europe’s elite for the foreseeable future, the addition of free agents will be key over the coming windows and Kurzawa is a player set to garner plenty of interest.

Italian news outlet FC Inter News has reported that the player’s entourage are being proactive in their search of finding the 27-year-old a new home, with Inter the latest club to be offered Kurzawa. There are concerns though, about his suitability in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 – where he’d be deployed as a wing-back.

His reported wage demands could also be a sticking point in negotiations. The report details that Kurzawa has requested a £100,000-a-week wage attached to a five-year contract. The player currently earns around £75,000-a-week in the French capital and is hoping for an increase due to the fact he will be able to sign on a free transfer.

And while this demand has led to the Nerazzurri rethinking their interest, it’s less likely to be a concern for Newcastle, who are on the brink of completing their £300m takeover by PCP Capital Partners – backed by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund – and have also been offered the chance to sign the PSG man.

From the Magpies’ perspective, the addition of Kurzawa would represent an astute bit of business.

The 27-year-old has made 123 appearances for PSG, notching 34 goal contributions in the process and provides heaps of experience despite his struggles for consistency during his five-year spell with Les Parisiens.

You’ve also got to factor in that their two preferred current options at left-back, Danny Rose and Jetro WIllem, are both at the club on loan deals – although the latter does have an obligation to buy in his contract – so it’s certainly an area the club will be looking to strengthen in the next window.
