The 22-year-old Kenya international midfielder joined Inter in January when Parma agreed to sell 50 per cent of his rights for €3m.
Inter are reportedly impressed with his progress and their chief technical director Marco Branca wants to finalise a deal with the Gialloblu.
La Gazzetta understands that Inter are prepared to send Obi and Nwankwo – two of their most promising academy players – to the Ennio Tardini this summer as part of the arrangement.
Meanwhile Branca was in Brazil yesterday where he met Philippe Coutinho, the 17-year-old Vasco da Gama playmaker who will also join Inter in June.
Inter agreed to sign the Brazil Under-17 international in 2008, but Brazilian law stipulates that he could only move when he is no longer a minor.
