Lautaro vents frustration on Inter bench

Inter star striker Lautaro Martinez was frustrated for not being able to score against Genoa yesterday and repeatedly punched the bench once Antonio Conte replaced him in the second half.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Argentinean looked irritable for the whole Marassi clash and complained with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen in the first half.

The 23-year-old has three goals in six games in all competitions so far this season but wanted to make it into the scoresheet against Genoa yesterday.

Conte replaced him after 72 minutes with Andrea Pinamonti, when Inter were already leading 1-0 thanks to Lukaku’s goal.

The Nerazzurri coach didn’t even notice Lautaro’s reaction.

“Lautaro played for the team as he always does,” Conte said at the end of the game.

“I have a great relationship with him and the post he hits in the Champions League still trembles. I was told about the episode, but it’s nothing against me. Either he was angry for his performance or with a teammate. Anyway, they are professionals and when the game ends they are more friends than before.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lautaro was angry with Alessandro Bastoni who failed a long pass who could have allowed him to score.

The Nerazzurri are now due to face Shakhtar Donetsk in Champions League on Tuesday with the Argentinean who is expected to start the game.
