Inter have reportedly chosen Verona goalkeeper Marco Silvestri to be the heir to Samir Handanovic, offering Ionut Radu in part-exchange.
Handanovic is signed on until June 2022, but his age and some recent errors have raised question marks.
According to Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the Nerazzurri have set their sights firmly on Silvestri.
He would be far more affordable than their other choice, Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso, and open to potentially sharing the role with Handanovic for a year.
It’s reported the two clubs already held talks yesterday, when Inter beat Verona 1-0 at San Siro in Serie A.
Silvestri turned 30 last month, so is not much younger than Handanovic, but provides plenty of experience.
Radu could be offered as part of the deal, as the Romanian shot-stopper has not disguised his frustration at the lack of playing time.
He has not made a single competitive appearance this season.
