The midfielder is happy with the way preseason preparations are going and admits coach Roberto Mancini was part of the reason he joined the club
New Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia believes the Serie A side have the quality to win the Scudetto this season.
The France international joined from Monaco in a €35 million deal this summer, while the Nerazzurri have also signed Miranda from Atletico Madrid, Barcelona’s Martin Montoya and Jeison Murillo from Granada.
Kondogbia is confident the side can improve on last year’s eighth-place finish in the league and believes they could even challenge the likes of Juventus and Roma for the title.
“It is still early to say, we are still preparing, but the team has all the qualities to win the title,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “But we have to work more and be focused throughout the season.
“Again, it’s too early to say, but we will do everything to try and win the title.”
The 22-year-old also admitted that he was persuaded to join the Milan club because of the prospect of working with Roberto Mancini.
“It is true that I chose Inter also for the coach and I always wanted to play in this league. It is important to improve even more and gaining Mancini’s confidence is really important to me.
“I am very happy here. It is a beautiful setting, it is a group with quality players. I like everything and I hope to settle into this squad quickly.”
