Inter announce that Samir Handanovic has also tested positive for COVID-19 after his teammate Danilo D’Ambrosio.
The goalkeeper and captain will therefore be ruled out of this weekend’s Serie a match against Sassuolo.
D’Ambrosio was the primary player to check positive for the Coronavirus on Tuesday, placing the group into fiduciary isolation at the Pinetina training ground.
A pre-match news conference set for Friday has also been cancelled as a precaution.
Now a press release has been released confirming Handanovic has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating reception.
Inter had an epidemic of Coronavirus among their staff, which reportedly put director Giuseppe Marotta into hospital as a precaution.
There are several alternatives to Handanovic, none of them given any playing time this season.
Ionut Radu is in theory second choice, followed by Daniele Padelli and Filip Stankovic, the 19-year-old son of former Nerazzurri midfielder Dejan Stankovic.
