Fienga: ‘Roma keep best players’

CEO Guido Fienga assures Edin Dzeko ‘will be with Roma as long as he wants’ and their greatest transfer coup will be ‘keeping the best players.’

Much has been said about Dzeko’s future, with reports of offers from Juventus and Inter worth €10m plus bonuses.

“Edin is the captain of Roma and he will be with Roma for as long as he wants to,” declared Fienga at an awards ceremony.

Because director of sport Gianluca Petrachi was fired and the club has now undergone a takeover by The Friedkin Group, Fienga is currently working as the transfer point man for the Giallorossi.

“It’s not really my profession, so you won’t hear me say anything about being a football expert. I help the club in negotiations and to keep the books balanced.

“I maintain Roma have a good coach and a strong squad, we just need to sort out a few areas where we aren’t fully covered. We’ve been making a huge effort since last year to keep the best players. If someone comes in, it’ll be to further improve the existing squad.”
