Inter defender Stefan de Vrij was happy ‘a trophy finally arrived’ at the Giuseppe Meazza and pointed at the match against Sassuolo away as the turning point.
The Holland international spoke about the sensation of celebrating Inter’s first Scudetto in 11 years and said it was all down to the group’s ‘positivity and desire’.
“We are very happy, this Scudetto is the result of a lot of work over the years,” De Vrij told SportMediaset.
“A trophy has finally arrived, something you can touch. It was a long season, but we faced it with a lot of positivity and desire to win.”
The Dutch centre-back said the match against Sassuolo was the turning point for the Nerazzurri.
“The satisfaction is great since we succeeded,” he continued. “The away game against Sassuolo, we changed something tactically, rediscovering our compactness as a team.
“Everyone made sacrifices, then we became a winning team.”
