D’Aversa: ‘We must give 120%’

Roberto D’Aversa said Parma ‘showed we are alive’ but must ‘evict the mistakes’ against Inter and claimed the rescheduled games in Serie A ‘influence the table’.

The Ducali prepare to conclude Serie every week 25 against the Nerazzurri on Thursday and therefore the coach regrets not having picked up quite two points from two ‘positive’ performances against Udinese and Spezia.

“We come from two positive games concerning our physical growth,” D’Aversa said at a news conference .

“We showed we are alive and if we had collected four points, we wouldn’t have stolen anything, and that we would be talking a few different table.

“Deficient, but different, especially for the morale of the lads and therefore the environment.

“We got to look ahead, analyse the very fact that Spezia had outclassed Milan, believe our potential and quality, and believe the mistakes that aren’t allowing us to bring home the results.

“We must immediately understand that we can’t afford it for for much longer .”

D’Aversa wants ‘120 per cent’ from the Ducali on Thursday night.

“We must give 120 per cent, eliminating the mistakes that we can’t afford against the league leaders, and perhaps hope to seek out an opponent who have a nasty evening.

“But this relies in particular on us, it’s going to not be enough, but we must make it happen.

“Last year, we put Inter struggling . We are second to bottom and that we haven’t won for a short time , but i think that faith can assist you achieve unthinkable results, because nothing is impossible in football.”

D’Aversa was asked about things with Torino, who are involved within the relegation battle and haven’t played for 2 games thanks to coronavirus.

The Granata were blocked from travelling to play Lazio within the week and therefore the Parma coach pointed at similar situations when his team were forced to play earlier in the season.

“I don’t like talking about other people’s circumstances, but i feel we’d like to think an equivalent way for everybody ,” D’Aversa continued.

“When I wasn’t here, Parma and other teams visited play with many positive cases. There’s an epidemic , it’s clear that it’s a national security, but i feel there are often differences within the Italian League.

“I repeat, without going into the precise case of Torino. Parma player in Udine with a high number of positive cases.

“Merit to Parma for having this attitude. I repeat, I don’t wish to mention other people’s situation, but i feel it’s right that there’s equality in the way to behave in this stuff .”

D’Aversa believes the postponement could ‘influence the table’.

“I’d say that if you behave differently, I don’t say that you simply falsify the championship, but you behave differently,” he said.

“Genoa have used the postponement once, certainly which will influence the table. The behaviour must be an equivalent for everybody and it’s not happening.

“And I’m not talking about Torino, it’s a general situation.”

The Gialloblu coach continued then talked about the injury situations of Roberto Inglese and Graziano Pelle.

“We don’t work daily with Inglese and Pellè, they came back part-time,” he said. “The path must be considered.

“Graziano came from a period of inactivity, he started then had an injury. Roberto was stopped for an extended time.

“We got to believe [Yann] Karamoh and [Valentin] Mihaila, both had issues within the game, it should be considered.

“Numerically, we’ve some difficulties. But in Spezia, without Inglese and Pellè, we took the lead. I don’t wish to create excuses for absences and injuries, but it’s clear [it would help] to possess alternatives during the match.

“In the past, even with important absences, great performances are made, and therefore the match against Inter last year proves it.”
