Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard said he’s ‘very proud’ to listen to about the fans affection and said he intends to remain with the Blucerchiati.
Damsgaard continued to impress against Atalanta last time and has carved out an area in coach Claudio Ranieri’s team.
But the 20-year-old was coy when Il Secolo XIX told him the fans in Liguria have fallen crazy with the Denmark international.
“I don’t read phrases like that going around, but if that’s the case, I’m very proud,” Damsgaard replied.
“Having only scored two goals, I don’t think I’ve done such a lot to deserve it.”
Damsgaard arrived from Nordsjaelland last summer and signed a contract until June 2024.
And the winger confirmed he intends to remain at the club, despite reports of interest from Juventus and Inter.
“Sure,” he said. “Why not?
“Then, of course, you never know and in football everything depends on performance, permanently and for bad.”
