UEFA Europa League: Inter's opponents revealed

NYON – The draw for the third
qualifying round of the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League has just finished
in Nyon.

Inter will face the winner of the second qualifying
round tie between Croatian outfit HNK Hajduk Split and Latvia’s
Skonto FC.

Hajduk Split won the first leg 2-0 in Croatia last
night but Inter will have to wait until next Thursday’s second leg in Riga to
find out who they must beat to reach the play-offs.

The third qualifying round will be played on 2 and 9 August, with the draw for the play-offs being held on 10 August.

Appiano: Mudingayi and Sneijder in training

APPIANO GENTILE – A morning of arrivals and returns at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.

Inter’s new midfielder Gaby Mudingayi trained with his Nerazzurri team-mates for the first time while Wesley Sneijder was back after his extended holiday. Both followed a programme involving medium-intensity aerobic work and personalised injury-prevention exercises.

The rest of the squad took part in a warm-up and mini-matches focusing on different skills, before being split into two groups for gym work, technique drills and football tennis on the pitch.

Transfers: Mudingayi joins Inter

MILAN – F.C. Internazionale has signed Gaby Mudingayi from Bologna F.C. on loan with an option to purchase. The paperwork relating to the transfer was filed at the
Lega Serie A offices this morning.

The 30-year-old Belgian midfielder arrives at Inter
following spells at Gent (Jupiler League, 2000 to January 2003, 63
appearances), Torino (Serie B, January 2003 to 2004, 34 appearances and 1
goal), Lazio (Serie A, 2005 to 2008, 69 appearances and 1 goal) and
Bologna (Serie A, 2008 to June 2012, 125 appearances and 2 goals).

Mudingayi made 6 appearances with the Belgium Under-21 team and has earned 17 caps with the senior side since making his debut in 2003.

Europa League draw in Nyon at 13:30

MILAN – The draw for the third qualifying round of the 2012/13 Europa League (first leg 2 August, return leg 9 August) will be held in Nyon at 13:30 today.

There are 98 teams in today’s draw: 18 sides entering at this stage plus 80 teams involved in the 40 second qualifying round ties. The teams have been divided into five groups with an equal number of seeded and non-seeded contenders in each.

Inter are amongst the seeds and have been placed in Group 4. They will face the winners of one of the following ties:
