UEL, Rubin Kazan 3-0 Inter

KAZAN – The Nerazzurri go home from their trip to Russia disappointed after Rubin Kazan ran out 3-0 winners.

The hosts were ahead inside two minutes: Kasaev crossed, Juan Jesus tried to turn the ball behind for a corner but inadvertently struck the post and Karadeniz was well placed to turn in the rebound. Inter slowly got themselves into the game as the first half drew on but weren’t able to find an equaliser. They were centimetres away from doing so in the 66th minute though, when Palacio – who had entered the fray at half time along with Zanetti – hit the inside of the post after his run was picked out by Ranocchia. Rubin doubled their lead with four minutes left on the clock, substitute Rondon firing past Belec with a neat finish. The Venezuelan then grabbed a personal second in added time as Karedeniz provided a low delivery from the byline for the striker to complete the scoring.

The Nerazzurri remain on 10 points and are now certain to finish second in Group H.
