The Inter president is happy to leave those below him in charge when he is on business and has joked that the team tend to drop points when he is in Milan to watch
Inter president Erick Thohir has insisted that he does not need to be in Italy for the club to thrive.
The Indoniesian businessman took over from Massimo Moratti earlier this season but feels he can delegate his new responsbilities to those below him when he not in Italy.
“I am the president, but it is important to have a strong management team, to carry forward the strategy that we have,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
“It is not necessary that every weekend I am at Pinetina. I saw the match against Fiorentina from Jakarta, staying up until dawn, and we won, and every time I come to Milan we drop points!
“I think what matters is the work. It is about what we are all focusing together on for the good of Inter.”
Inter currently sit fifth in Serie A but face a daunting trip to Scudetto-chasing Roma at 20:45CET on Saturday.
