Picking the Best Potential Inter Lineup to Face Sassuolo on Saturday

?Inter travel to Sassuolo on Saturday looking to bounce back from their shock 3-1 defeat to Udinese at San Siro last weekend.

It was Il Nerazzurri’s first loss of the season, and it will be interesting to see how they respond to this against a side that captain Mauro Icardi insists will provide a tough test.

The defeat saw them fall behind the chasing pack and Luciano Spalletti’s men will be aiming to earn all three points to ensure they don’t fall any further behind table toppers Napoli.

Here is the best potential lineup that Spalletti could choose against Sassuolo.

Goalkeeper

  • Handanovic

?An ever present in goal for the Nerazzurri, Handanovic will undoubtedly keep his place, despite shipping three goals last week.

Defence

  • D'Ambrosio

?Davide Santon played against Udinese but didn’t have the best of games, so Japanese international Yuto Nagatomo is likely to regain his spot as Spalletti’s favoured choice at left-back.

Despite conceding three goals last time out, the Inter tactician is likely to stick with the rest of the back four as they have been generally solid for him during their unbeaten run.

Midfield

?Matias Vecino is suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card against Udinese, with Roberto Gagliardini likely to replace him in defensive midfield alongside Borja Valero. Joao Mario is also available after recovering from tonsillitis.

The powerful attacking trio of Antonio Candreva, Marco Brozovic and Ivan Perisic is expected to stay the same in the hope of supporting the lone striker.

?Mauro Icardi has already scored seventeen goals in Serie A this season and doesn’t look to be slowing down his production anytime soon. The 24-year-old scored Inter’s only goal of the game against Udinese and actually played surprisingly well despite the scoreline.

News broke yesterday suggesting the Argentine will snub a move to Real Madrid in favour of signing a colossal six-year deal with the Nerazzurri, which will be music to Inter fans’ ears considering his performances this season.
