Moratti: "We did ourselves no favours…"

MILAN – In the aftermath of Inter’s defeat against Parma, president Massimo
Moratti answered questions from journalists waiting outside the Saras offices.

You can read the statements made by the president here on inter.it:

Is it safe to say that the 3-1 loss at the Stadio Tardini means Inter’s chances
of finishing third have gone up in smoke?

"In a season like this you never know. We certainly didn’t do ourselves any favours
last night."

Did you expect more from the team after getting into third place with the win over Cesena?
Were you disappointed with the way the game went?

"We played well in the first half but with a bit more determination we might have been able to kill the game off. You make mistakes sometimes and yesterday we made a lot both in defence and up front. Then of course you live to regret the lack of determination in the first half."

Does your assessment of the coach change after this defeat? And if so, how?

"I don’t think it was the coach making the mistakes yesterday."

With what spirit will Inter face AC Milan in the derby on Sunday?

"The derby is a game in itself. Sometimes it’s better to be the underdogs… And we definitely are the underdogs."

Wouldn’t Inter be doing Juventus a favour by beating AC Milan?

"We’re going to have to do one of the two a favour this year."

Who would you prefer to help?

"It’s the same either way."
