Mazzarri happy with Inter progress

The Nerazzurri boss believes his side are beginning to play the way he wants them to and is taking the positives from their 2-0 loss to Chelsea

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri is happy with the progress his team have made, despite their 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the International Champions Cup.

The Nerazzurri were consigned to defeat by goals from Eden Hazard and Oscar in Indianapolis, but the former Napoli boss is certain his game plan is starting to take effect.

“I’m very happy with the way my team played. We started strongly but weren’t able to open the scoring,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’m trying to get the team playing a certain way and we managed to take the game to our opponents tonight.

“Considering the quality of the opposition we were up against I’m happy.”

Mazzarri will take charge of his first competitive game for Inter on August 25 when they face Genoa at San Siro.
