The Nerazzurri boss has lost three of his four previous clashes with Ukrainian sides in continental competition during his spells in charge of Sampdoria and Napoli
Walter Mazzarri is expecting a tough test when Inter host Dnipro in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Nerazzurri go into the Group F clash at San Siro on the back of a stunning 7-0 demolition of Serie A rivals Sassuolo.
However, Mazzarri is taking nothing for granted ahead of the visit of Dnipro on account of his past experiences with Ukrainian sides in continental competition.
“They always make it tough for you,” he told reporters at his pre-game press conference. “I lost to Dnipro with Napoli and to Metalist at Sampdoria.
“They play good football and we must be very wary of them.
“Dnipro are in great shape fitness-wise. They’re a strong, aggressive side but I enjoy pitting my wits against them.
“We played a good game on Sunday. Now we need to be consistent. This is a big game for is to see where we’re at.”
Mazzarri’s Sampdoria side were beaten at home and away by Metalist in the 2008-09 Uefa Cup, while his Napoli outfit were beaten 3-1 away from home by Dnipro in the 2012-13 Europa League before triumphing 4-2 at home.
