Lautaro Martínez’s Agent Provides Updates on Forward’s Future Amid Real Madrid & Barcelona Links

?The agent of Inter striker Lautaro Martínez has insisted that the Argentine remains focused on I Nerazzurri, despite intense speculation linking him to both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for Antonio Conte’s side this season, racking up 16 goals and four assists in all competitions, and both La Liga giants are thought to have identified him as an ideal signing this summer.

FC Internazionale v Atalanta BC - Serie A

The rumours have been flooding in for months, but speaking to Radio La Plata (via the ?Daily Mail), his agent Beto Yaque insisted that Martínez is not paying any attention to the stories and only wants to play football.

“It’s been said that ?Barcelona and ?Real Madrid both want him, but for him it’s like nothing is happening,” Yaque revealed. “Others wouldn’t sleep at night. He never calls me to ask if the rumours are true, he’s focused on where he is and his work.

“We’ve talked to lots of people, but nothing more than that. For now, those who are calling me aren’t directly registered by various clubs.

“There’s nothing formal or serious. Being wanted on the market is something you dream of, but he’s not expecting anything: all he wants to do is play and score goals.

“His constant growth means the best teams in the world are looking at Lautaro with interest. We hope his efforts will be rewarded like they deserve to.”

Despite interest from elsewhere, including unconvincing links to both ?Chelsea and ?Manchester City, Barcelona are said to be ?confident of being able to sign Martínez. They believe that he wants to head to Camp Nou and they have the financial muscle to get the deal done.

Junior Firpo

The fee involved is expected to be well over €100m, but ?Sport claim that Barcelona could lower that by agreeing to send left-back Junior Firpo in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

?Inter are thought to be prepared to accept such a deal, having already expressed an interest in the €20m-rated Spaniard, so this one seems to make a whole lot of sense.
