The Croatia international has called for patience in the wake of his side’s poor run of form in recent weeks
Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic has stressed that Roberto Mancini deserves time to turn things around following his unconvincing start to his second spell as the club’s head coach.
Mancini replaced Walter Mazzarri as the man in charge ahead of the derby against AC Milan, but he has yet to guide them to victory in Serie A.
Inter held Milan to a 1-1 draw in their first match under Mancini, before they were beaten 4-2 by Roma, only to lose again on Sunday as Udinese proved to be too strong in a 2-1 triumph.
“We’re not having a good spell at the moment, but let’s give Mancini time,” Kovacic told reporters.
“A coach can’t change everything in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, we’re in one of those periods and we just need to look forward. We’ve got a good team but we’re making too many errors.
“We must listen to the coach and work harder. Serie A is a very tough league, and every match is hard. We need to try and do better.”
Inter have dropped to 12th place in the league table following their poor string of results.
