Juventus and Inter continue Guarin-Vucinic talks

Both Serie A rivals have scheduled another meeting as they continue talks over the swap deal that caused uproar among Nerazzurri fans on Monday

Inter and Juventus are to meet again on Tuesday morning as they aim to complete the player-exchange deal that will see Fredy Guarin move to Turin and Mirko Vucinic in the opposite direction.

Both sides were close to finalising the deal on Monday when Inter president Erick Thohir suddenly opted to pull the plug on the transfer after fans’ protests, much to the dismay of Juventus.

Talks were re-opened shortly after, though, as both Vucinic, 30, and Guarin ,27, instructed their agents to push hard for the deal to go through, with Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta revealing on Monday evening that the transfer could be back on.

“The deal is not completed yet, but things are moving in the right direction. More will be clear on Tuesday,” Marotta told reporters.

Both sides will continue negotiations on Tuesday as they have yet to reach an agreement over the valuation of Vucinic and Guarin.

Juventus value both players at €13.5 million and had initially set their sights on a clean swap, whereas Inter were holding out for an additional €4m.

The reigning Serie A champions and the Giuseppe Meazza side are expected to eventually meet each other in the middle, though, with Juventus paying Inter €2m to make the deal happen after all.
