Inter Milan Weighing Up Move for Tottenham Flop and Roma Defender Federico Fazio

?Inter Milan could move for Roma centre-back Federico Fazio, according to reports, emanating from Italy.

The Argentina international failed to make a positive impression at Tottenham and was subsequently loaned out to Roma, who have since made the temporary move permanent and signed the 30-year-old for €3.2m.

However, Tuttosport via ?Football-Italia believe the former Sevilla defender does not suit new Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco’s style of play and could be forced out of the club soon after joining permanently.

Inter, who are looking to return to the top of Italian football after many seasons of mediocrity, are looking to improve their back line and Fazio represents a low cost option after moving to Roma for just €3.2m.

Brazilian defender Miranda made 32 Serie A appearances for Inter last campaign and was frequently paired with either Chilean Gary Medel or former Granada centre-back Jeison Murillo as the Nerazzurri finished seventh in the league, conceding 49 goals.

Whether a move to Inter would entice Fazio remains to be seen, given that Roma finished second in Serie A last season and will be competing in the Champions League next campaign, a competition Inter have been absent from for the last few years.

Fazio made 37 Serie A appearances for Roma during the 2016-17 season, scoring twice and contributing an assist.

Inter’s only signing so far this summer has been Torino’s Daniele Padelli, while the likes of Caner Erkin, Juan Jesus, Ever Banega and Gianluca Caprari have all left on permanent deals.
