Inter chief confirms agreement for Roma's Ljajic

The Serbian looks set to swap the Stadio Olimpico for San Siro, according to Nerazzurri transfer chief Piero Ausilio

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed that Roma attacking midfielder Adem Ljajic is set to join the San Siro club on Serie A’s deadline day.

It is being reported in Italy that the Serbia international, 23, will join the Nerazzurri on a season-long loan for €2 million with an option for his new club to purchase for an additional €9m in 2016.

“Yes, you could say that there is a Ljajic agreement,” Ausilio remarked to Tuttomercatoweb late on Monday.

Ljajic has spent two seasons at the Stadio Olimpico side but failed to truly make his mark on Rudi Garcia’s XI since his €11 million signing on a four-year contract in August 2013.

The ex-Fiorentina star looks set to join midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, winger Ivan Perisic, defenders Jeison Murillo and Miranda, striker Stevan Jovetic and utility man Martin Montoya as Inter signings.

Inter have started their season with back-to-back wins in Serie A, leaving them third behind Chievo and Torino after two matches.
