Tata Tea and Inter: training camp in Calcutta

MILAN – After five months of scouting, with over 7 thousand U-15 players
viewed, Tata Tea and Inter have selected the top 37 who are taking part in a
training camp in Calcutta run by Marco Monti, technical director of the Inter Academy
project, along with coach Massimo Ciocci. On 23 May, at the end of
the camp, the two Nerazzurri coaches will choose the 16 boys who will compete
in the U-15 tournament in September at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti,
the headquarters of Inter’s youth academy. The 16 members of the Indian team
will also have the opportunity to visit the San Siro Museum and the Stadio
Giuseppe Meazza, as well as being invited to a league match while seeing the
Nerazzurri first team players up close.

"White Night": play at the San Siro on 18 May

MILAN – For the first time ever you’ll be able to go onto the
pitch and even take a penalty!

This is a new experience
available to visitors to the San Siro for the third edition of the "White Night",
which will take place at the stadium on Friday 18 May from 18:30 onwards.

You’ll be able to walk the
same route as your heroes, go out from the changing rooms, onto the pitch
via the tunnel and walk past the dug-out. This year thousands of people will be
able to realise their dreams of walking out onto the pitch!

Participants will also be
able to take a penalty for the first time!

The stadium is at the centre
of a vast green area of Milan, with an ever growing range of facilities
designed to meet the varying demands of the general public. The "White Night" will bring people closer to an iconic sporting venue like the San Siro – not
only sports lovers but also people who don’t usually go to matches.

Join us on the pitch and see what goes on at the San Siro on a daily basis!

Appiano: first training session ahead of Indonesia

APPIANO GENTILE – The first of two training sessions finished earlier at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti. Andrea Stramaccioni‘s side trained for around 60 minutes on the main pitch, against a backdrop of cheering and applause from the 200 children from the Inter football school. Wesley Sneijder, Diego Forlan, Fredy Guarin and Yuto Nagatomo were all on international duty, while Cristiano Biraghi, Philippe Coutinho, Hernan Della Fiore, Jonathan and Luca Tremolada all trained with the first team. Julio Cesar was with the squad but this time as an outfielder! Cristian Chivu, Lucio, Andrea Ranocchia, Joel Obi and Dejan Stankovic all trained separately. Luc Castaignos did a session of light training. Ricardo Alvarez underwent an operation as the Inter medical staff used arthroscopy to remove cartilage from his knee.

Awaiting Prima Serata: Stramaccioni and craziness

APPIANO GENTILE – Inter Channel will be airing a special edition of Prima
Serata
tonight at 21:00 on channel 232 of Sky Italia and streaming on
inter.it.

Andrea Stramaccioni was the guest in the studio, with host Edoardo Caldara. The
Nerazzurri coach was among family in the television studio and one joke led to
another as they set up his microphone but, as the countdown began for filming
to start, there he was on the bench; in a clip showing a collage of images,
nine matches, gestures, movements, shouts, smiles, embraces, as the viewers
eyes are spellbound.

"It was like watching the Inter coach," he exclaimed as soon as the
cameras switched on, and this led to the question as to whether, almost two
months after beginning with the first team, he actually feels like the Inter
coach. "There is always an unconscious part of me that still can’t believe
it." These are his sentiments, even though president Moratti declared that
there was nothing crazy about choosing him, stating that it was actually the
most intelligent choice to be made at that time. "I thank him. We can say
that he made a great bet, showing a truly special intuition. I can tell you
that as the one who benefited from it," replied Stramaccioni.

There was talk of craziness, but there wouldn’t be enough time in a single
episode to explain the rapport that he has with Stramaccioni: "This is an
interesting chapter, and we could spend all night discussing it… I don’t know
if crazy is the right word, but there’s a certain kind of unpredictability,
sometimes even with myself. I believe, and I also see it in my own players,
there’s a rational part and a part that is beyond control. Something that moves
on its own that you have inside you and can’t be learned anywhere. This is
added value and something different that has allowed me to get here, or perhaps
to convince the president. I believe he was struck by this part of me, not by
my rationality. That’s the sensation I have."

At 21:00 on channel 232 or inter.it, the live broadcast of the Andrea Stramaccioni interview will air
on Prima Serata
