Antonio Conte in Turin to watch Juventus vs Inter

The Chelsea manager was a guest of the Old Lady’s president Andrea Agnelli after being linked to the club’s bitter rivals in his home nation

Sunday’s Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter had a very distinguished guest in attendance, as Antonio Conte paid a visit to his old stamping ground.

The Chelsea manager was present as a guest of Juve president Andrea Agnelli for the showpiece Serie A clash, and sat in the directors’ box alongside the chief to take in the action.

The trip rounded off a fine weekend for the boss, who saw his current employers take down Arsenal 3-1 the previous day to consolidate their lead at the Premier League summit.

Conte is one of the most illustrious names in Juve history, having starred in Turin as both a player and coach over the past two decades.

He lifted five Scudetto titles as well as the Champions League in 1995-6 during his playing days, and added a further three Serie A crowns – in consecutive years – after returning to the club on the bench in  2011.

His career then took him on to the Italian national team, before joining the Blues at the end of Euro 2016, where he has made a massive impact.

But despite his hero status at Juventus Stadium, there are suggestions Conte could have gone back to his home country to size up their bitter rivals.

Rumours in Italy have linked the boss with a sensational move to Inter, who are bankrolled by Chinese retail giant Suning Commerce Group.

According to reports, he would receive a contract worth a mammoth €60 million over four years as well as a transfer kitty of €400m to help bring the glory days back for the Nerazzurri.
